This dam is a multipurpose stone reservoir. Its crest is 43 m long, 4.7 m tall
and 1.5 m wide at the base. The body is made with a well-ordered stone riprap
that is 0.5 m wide at the top and a similar structure at the bottom and a thick
layer of clastic rock mortar acting as the clay core. Considering the torrential
nature of the area, the water spillway, that is 6 m long and 0.5 m tall, is
built on the left hand on the body and directly on the thick sandstone layers.
There are two replenishing gates and a discharging gate slightly down the dam’s
pools. At the moment, only the installation places are left and the gates, most
probably wooden, no longer exist. The dam also includes a two-purpose staircase,
used both as the limpid water passage and the access way to the crest of the
dam, with 12 steep stairs and a suntrap that is unique among Hamadan’s other
dams. The water spillway, 30 cm wide and 60 cm deep, is located at the crest of
the dam. After flowing down the stairs and having lost its original energy, the
limpid water is conducted into a special reservoir on the right hand corner of
the dam. There is also a little earth dam at the bottom of the dam that acts as
a reservoir for water cleared from sediment and regulatory water of the cattle
house dam.
