2.Dashbolagh Earth Dam, The Linkage Between the Past and the Present
Construction Type:
This earth dam stands 6 m tall, stretches 170 m long, has a crest of 5.6 m wide
and can hold 250,000 cubic meters of water. It was built to reserve the water
carried through a four-kilometer canal from one of the main branches of the
Saroogh River.
Feature:
In building this dam, the existing material and resources in the site, i.e. the
earth, have been put in the best use. The earth was moisturized and compacted by
the cattle (similar to sheep’s-trotter roller).
Location:
This construction is 6 km far from eastern Tekab and 5.2 km far from Dashbolagh
village.
Purpose:
One the construction’s aims is to irrigate the crops of the village.
